Latest Stuff....

This page provides an opportunity to share some of the latest things that may be of interest.  I want to provide a place to give them ongoing visibility, rather than bury them into my Blog or on my Update page:

I recently spoke at the Southern Comfort Conference as the Friday lunchtime speaker.  When I do those kinds of things I generally write out  bullet points of things I want to cover and then I just let the words come as the spirit move me.  I'm more effective when I'm spontaneous like that than when I'm reading. I think the authenticity of the things I want to say comes across better that way, although judging the timing is more difficult (sorry).  I've had several people ask me for copies of my remarks so I've transcribed the audio version, fixing up some of the grammar along the way.  You can read it here, if you'd like.  There are audio versions of all the main speeches on the SCC website.

For those interested in listening to the XM Radio interview from Monday (8/14), here is the text and a link to the audio from the HRC website.  I thought it went pretty well:

Two amazing transgender authors and leaders joined us in Point of View  to give us the 101 on being transgender in America today.
Donna Rose and
Paisley Currah talked about transgender lingo and gender stereotypes and shared their personal stories.

Listen to the fascinating conversation.

Since I've let myself become a media whore this week I may as well share the link the the PlanetOut article about my experience at the Gay Games.  I've gotten a fair amount of email from it - all of it positive so far.

I have decided to share some of the original manuscripts from my memoir, Wrapped In Blue:  Trapped In Blue: The Manuscript Papers.

I want to put something out there for those who are interested.  I gave a talk at Eastman Kodak last August.  It was video taped for use as a Corporate Trans 101 DVD that we were talking about creating at HRC.  The talk went very well.  I subsequently got a copy of the video and although I generally don't like to see myself on screen I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.  A friend created 20 DVD's of it, so if you're interested in a copy please email me your name and mailing address and I'll be happy to send one along.
